Polder Compact Sofa by Hella Jongerius for Vitra
With a flat surface, low-slung body, and horizontal emphasis, the Polder Compact Sofa evokes the characteristics of Hella Jongerius' native Dutch low-lying flatlands.
Large asymmetrical seat cushions form an extremely comfortable seat surface flanked on both sides by an upholstered body. An higher armrest on one end is counterbalanced by a lower armrest on the opposite end. Hella Jongerius developed the textiles exclusively for Vitra to intensify the subtle interplay of colors and textures that characterize the Polder design.

Construction:
