Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec Vegetal Chair

Inspired by nature, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec's goal was to create a chair that aspires to look like a piece of vegetation while simultaneously incorporating strength, stability, and comfort. The flat, branch-like ribs are asymmetrically intertwined on three levels to form a seat shell, which is shaped as an irregular circle and supported by four legs that appear to sprout from the ground.

Designer: Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, 2008
Manufacturer: Vitra
23.75"w | 21.75"d | 32"h | seat height: 18"

Construction: Seat and base are dyed-through polyamide. The stackable four-legged base comes with plastic glides for carpet or felt guides for hard floors. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Available in six unique colors that are unusual for plastic furniture, emphasizing the underlying concept of replicating structures found in nature.
