PK52A Student Desk by Poul Kjaerholm for Carl Hansen

Designed for the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1955, Poul Kjaerholm's table series embody his mastery of working in both wood and steel. With a clean, light expression, the tables show Kjaerholm's perfect synthesis of craftsmanship and industrial design.

For the Student Desk, originally designed with a black stained oak top and grey lacquered steel base, Kjaerholm drew from both his cabinetmaking and furniture design experience to develop his signature style.

The Student Desk is a companion piece to the larger Kjaerholm Professor Desk.
