Originally founded by John M. Bernhardt in 1889, Bernhardt Furniture Company has evolved and expanded for more than 125 years, adding Bernhardt Design for the commercial and contract market in 1983.

Under the leadership of Creative Director and now President Jerry Helling, Bernhardt Design has commissioned designs by top global design talent and some of the most creative minds in the business.  Reaching beyond the elite design world, Bernhardt Design is also known for cultivating emerging designers across many disciplines, including art, industrial design, textile design, music, and cinema.

Created with meticulous attention to both aesthetic beauty and functionality, Bernhardt Design furniture is equally at home in a residence as it is in an office space or hotel lobby.

Behind the brawn, action, and laughs, Terry Crews is a renaissance man from Flint, Michigan, who, as a teen, got his first big break after high school with an art scholarship at the prestigious Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan. This was followed by an Art Excellence scholarship and a full-ride football scholarship to play as a defensive end at Western Michigan University.

After several years in the NFL (where he painted portraits of teammates to supplement his income), Crews turned his talents to the performing arts, where his talent, hard work, character and dedication have made him one of the most sought after and respected actors in the industry.

Expanding on his love of craftsmanship and his extensive background as an artist and illustrator, Terry established design house AMEN & AMEN. He seeks out and supports creatives in the world of art, music, fashion, decor and industrial design. Initially breaking ground with menswear fashion designer Nana Boateng, the label successfully expanded to interior lighting and furnishings in 2016 with the exhibition of Ini Archibong’s The Secret Garden collection at Salone Di Mobile in Milan.

At the request of Bernhardt Design President and Creative Director Jerry Helling, Crews then designed his own groundbreaking furniture collection, inspired by a vision of Ancient Egyptian Civilization flourishing in the modern era.
