Panton Chair

A classic in the history of furniture design, an icon of the twentieth century. Conceived by Verner Panton in 1960, the Panton Chair was developed for serial production in collaboration with Vitra. It was the first chair to be manufactured completely out of plastic in one molded piece. The comfort of this piece comes from the cantilever structure with the anthropomorphic shape and a slightly flexible material. It can be used individually or in groups and is suited for indoor and outdoor environments.

Designer: Verner Panton, 1960
Manufacturer: Vitra
Dimensions: 19.75"w | 24"d | 32.75"h | seat height: 16.25"

  • Back, seat, and foot are made of dyed polypropylene with a lustrous matte finish.
  • The original version of the chair, called the Panton Classic and made of rigid polyurethane with a gloss finish, is also available.
